Fiery Smoked Bourbon Beans
2 22 oz. Cans Bush’s Bourbon & Brown Sugar Beans
2 T Bourbon
2 T CaJohn’s Trinidad Moruga Scorpion BBQ Sauce
5 Strips of Hardwood Smoked Bacon
Cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, drain, and let cool.
Put beans in a large shallow pan for maximum exposure to the smoke. Add Bourbon and Trinidad Moruga Scorpion BBQ Sauce. Add half of the bacon drippings, crumble the bacon, and add to the beans.
Cook in a smoker with Cherry wood for 2 hours or so.
Place the pan close to the opening to get a little more heat to boil off the alcohol from the Bourbon, and to get a nice caramelization from the sugars. Stir every occasionally to enhance smokiness, and blend flavors.
These beans are sweet, smoky, spicy, and off-the-hook delicious!
